MMA Introduction

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a combat sport which allows one to utilize a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills, from several different martial arts. The roots of Mixed Martial Arts may be traced back centuries ago to an ancient Greek combat sport known as Pankration. Pankration featured a combination of grappling and striking, similar to modern mixed martial arts. Throughout the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, Various mixed style martial arts competitions started emerging throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim. No-holds-barred competitions where combatants representing a huge range of fighting styles met in tournaments and challenge matches in the late 19th Century throughout Europe and early 20th Century throughout Brazil. In 1993 the Gracie Family brought the combat sport of MMA to North America with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Today the sport of Mixed Martial Arts is known as one of the fastest growing sports in sporting history. With the introduction of several rules and regulations, Mixed Martial Arts has become a very controlled sport and is considered no more dangerous than other contact sports such as wrestling, hockey, and football.

Ajahn Burklerk Pinsinchai is regarded as one of the best and most respected Muay Thai practitioners in the world. With a record of 170-7 many refer to him as the Muhammad Ali of Muay Thai. Ajahn travels to over 18 countries around the world and has many national and international champion fighters. Ajahn Burklerk Pinsinchai began training in Muay Thai under his father at the age of 9 and two years later switched over to the legendary Pin-Sinchai Camp in Bangkok. Ajahn Burklerk went on to become a two time champion of Lumpini Stadium and 2 times Yod Muay Thailand/ Rajadamnern Stadium Champion. The United States Muay Thai Association ranks Ajahn Burklerk as one of the all time best Muay Thai fighters to walk the planet. Ajahn Burklerk Pinsinchai was also recently awarded to the title of Muay Thai World Ambassador. This is the most prestigious award one may win in the Muay Thai World.
